Lakeview Inns & Suites exceeds guests expectations during Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival

As the capital of New Brunswick, Canada, Fredericton celebrates its role as Atlantic Canada's Riverfront Capital. With charming views of the St. Johns River, the historic Garrison District and the Tannery Entertainment District, Fredericton lives up to its motto of What a city should be.

The city's busiest and biggest event happens the third week in September when 350 artists perform more than 130 concerts at the internationally recognized Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival.

Technology Solution

But having a good time meant getting serious about investing in technology. In 2005, Jeannette Clarke, operations manager - technical support for Lakeview Hotels & Resorts, and Dave McArthur implemented the RoomKey property management system (PMS), the latest technology from RSI International Systems, Inc.

“All the features and benefits of the RoomKey PMS system fit the Fredericton property perfectly,” said Clarke. “Adopting their technology allowed us to integrate additional technologies and raise expectations for the guest experience.”

One example included replacing their telephone switch and voicemail system and choosing the Mitel SX-200 ICP phone switch that offers IP technology. “When I got the call from Jeannette that they were going to the Mitel system, I knew Comtrol’s Lodging Link had the device interface we needed,” stated Sameer Poonja, director of information technology for RSI International Systems, Inc.

Using Lodging Link to interface the phone switch and voicemail system with the RoomKey PMS system made the changeover process efficient and successful.
